Introduction to Oil Painting

Are you new to oil painting or wanting to refresh foundation skills, then this is the class for you! This class is designed for the new beginner to the artist returning after time away from painting. Lisa will go over materials, technique, drawing and finding proportions. Students will be working with black and white oils and paint from a still life set up.
About the instructor: Lisa graduated from Berry College with a degree in Fine Arts and education. She has been working as a professional artist since 1990 with private individual instruction of drawing and painting, custom design and painting of murals and canvas for business and private collectors.
Materials: Oil Paint: Titanium White, Ivory Black – I use M. Graham or Rembrandt, but choose what you would like to try or are already using. Supports: Two (2) 8”x 10”- Wooden Primed panel Ampersand Gesso Board, Museum Series Flat Panel One (1) 12”x 16” Brushes: Flat, Round, Filbert – Range in sizes and texture. Solvent: Odorless Mineral Spirits in a container that can be tightly sealed. gloves, paper towels, Sketchbook for notes and thumbnail sketches, palette knife & painters palette
